Miss Michigan Kirsten Haglund, a University of Cincinnati musical theater student, was named Miss America 2008 on Saturday, becoming the second UC student in eight years to wear the crown.

The 19-year-old from Farmington Hills, Mich., who aspires to be a Broadway star, sang "Over the Rainbow" and walked a crowd-pleasing strut in a black and gold bikini to clinch the title.
